Gad Saad’s Secret Meeting with Elon Musk and Insights on Suicidal Empathy

Gad Saad, a behavioral scientist and author, recently shared a unique experience involving a late-night meeting with billionaire Elon Musk. Saad recounted his adventure on the “Hang Out with Sean Hannity” podcast, illustrating the secretive nature of the meeting with multiple security checkpoints and mysterious escorts.

Saad described receiving a text from Musk around 9:30 PM. The brief message provided an address in Austin, Texas, setting the stage for what became a clandestine encounter. “I receive a one-line text from Elon at around 9:30 at night, the address of his house in Austin,” Saad said. “A driver comes, picks me up. I go through these canyons and he goes, ‘We’re here, sir.’ I’m like, ‘We’re here where?’ It’s like in the middle of a canyon. I can’t see anything.”

Upon arrival, Saad encountered a black van, which seemed to be the next step in reaching Musk. He approached the vehicle, where he underwent another security check. “I said, ‘Well maybe that’s my only shot here.’ I walk up to the van. It’s completely different. The door, the window goes down. ‘Name, sir?’ Gad Saad. ‘OK, keep walking up and then there’ll be a gate that opens.’ I keep walking, the gate opens, a guy kind of materializes,” he recounted. This mystery man appeared “out of the trees,” leading Saad closer to his meeting with Musk.

The encounter offered a rare insight into Musk’s world, showcasing the lengths taken for security. Saad finally met Musk, with the two embracing soon after. Saad humorously likened his experience to that of “James Bond,” a sentiment he shared with his wife.

“So I tell her the story, and I said to her, ‘I think I’m James Bond.’ She goes, ‘I think you’re James Bond also.’”

Beyond personal anecdotes, Musk has amplified Saad’s commentaries on social media. Saad’s concept of “suicidal empathy” has drawn attention, critiquing excessive compassion that he believes weakens Western countries’ survival instincts.

Saad often discusses various subjects, one of which is the happiness disparity between conservatives and progressives. He shared his insights on the Hannity podcast, noting, “Every action that I partake is animated by two ideals: Truth and freedom. Seeing the endless attacks on both ideals throughout the West is soul-crushing.” He further explored how conservatives often report greater happiness than progressives, attributing this to differing worldviews.

“The conservative wakes up in the morning with a sense of existential comfort. It may not be a perfect society, but we have freedom, we have liberties, we have all sorts of foundational values that are worth conserving, and it’s conservative,” Saad explained.

In contrast, he said, progressives experience existential angst due to societal issues, such as perceived transphobia and bigotry, impacting their overall happiness.

Saad’s insights continue to stir discussions about how ideological differences influence personal satisfaction and societal outlooks.
