On Wednesday afternoon, executives from leading technology firms will meet with leaders from many of the world’s wealthiest nations. The gathering, part of the Group of 7 nations’ efforts, aims to address the opportunities and risks presented by artificial intelligence (AI).
Notable Attendees
Dario Amodei, Anthropic
Mr. Amodei, a co-founder of Anthropic, an American AI company, is expected to be a focal point. His company has developed advanced AI models that raise significant security concerns. There have been clashes with the U.S. government over the military use of these models. Recently, the government announced that some of these models are off-limits to foreign nationals. Another founder of Anthropic, Christopher Olah, attended Pope Leo XIV’s recent discussion on AI dangers.
Sam Altman, OpenAI
Mr. Altman, CEO of OpenAI, known for the widespread use of ChatGPT, advocates for societal transformation through AI. He suggests governments could mitigate the impact by distributing a portion of AI profits to citizens. OpenAI recently compared AI to the Industrial Revolution in a 13-page policy paper, urging lawmakers to address technological changes ambitiously.
Arthur Mensch, Mistral
France’s Mistral is a leading AI company in Europe. Mr. Mensch, a co-founder, leads European efforts to compete with American tech giants. European leaders recently released a plan to reduce reliance on American technology, with companies like Mistral playing a crucial role.

The meeting will also include Demis Hassabis from Google DeepMind, Alexandr Wang from Meta, and Marc Benioff from Salesforce. European representatives include Uljan Sharka from Domyn, Robin Rombach from Black Forest Labs, and Victor Riparbelli from Synthesia. Additional participants feature Aidan Gomez from Canadian company Cohere, Ren Ito from Japan’s Sakana, and Vivek Raghavan from India’s Sarvam.
