Detroit Lions cornerback Terrion Arnold was arrested for his alleged involvement in a kidnapping and robbery incident that investigators say took place in February, as announced by the Tampa Police Department on Wednesday night.
Previously, six other individuals were arrested in relation to what authorities described as a ‘targeted armed robbery’ on February 4. Arnold surrendered and was taken into custody at the Orient Road Jail in Hillsborough County, facing charges of four counts of kidnapping and four counts of armed robbery.
We are aware of the matter and have been in contact with the club. We have no further comment at this time.
An NFL spokesperson told Fox News Digital. The Lions have not yet responded to a request for comment.
Investigators indicated Arnold rented an Airbnb in Largo, Florida, where he sometimes stayed with co-defendants Arianna Del Valle, 19; Jasmine Randazzo, 19; Lyndell Hudson II, 26; Christion Williams, 24; Boakai Hilton Jr., 23; and Freddie Hughes, 27. Other individuals also reportedly stayed at the property.
Three male victims, all in their late teens, reportedly suffered visible injuries after allegedly being battered, held at gunpoint, and pistol-whipped. They were then robbed and ordered to leave a residence on North 46th Street in Tampa.
According to investigators, items belonging to Arnold and others were stolen from the Airbnb on February 1. Arnold suspected two of the three victims were responsible, though Tampa police later found they were not involved in the theft.
On February 3, Arnold, Hilton, Hughes, and another party reported over $250,000 in stolen property to the Largo Police Department. Allegedly, Arnold and Hilton coordinated with Del Valle and Randazzo to contact one victim and lure him to an apartment.
Police claimed the victims were lured to an apartment on February 4, where Williams and Hudson allegedly hid in a bedroom closet. Williams and Hudson then reportedly held the victims at gunpoint and assaulted them.
The incident was streamed by Del Valle to Arnold, Hilton, and Hughes while they traveled to the apartment. Investigators said a group chat was found where Arnold and Hilton allegedly directed Del Valle, Williams, and Hudson during the assault.
Authorities stated that Arnold, Hilton, Hughes, and another individual arrived at the apartment around 1 a.m. Allegedly, Arnold led the group inside, where Hughes, Hudson, and Williams stole the victims’ belongings.
The victims were reportedly taken from the apartment about 40 minutes later, forced into their vehicle, and left the scene. They later reported the incident to the Tampa police and identified the suspects.
Investigators believe Arnold was the primary organizer of the alleged scheme. Arnold, drafted by Detroit with the No. 24 pick in 2024, had his first career interception against the Minnesota Vikings but only played eight games due to a shoulder injury.
Throughout his rookie season in 2024, Arnold appeared in 16 games, with 10 passes defended and 60 combined tackles.
