Chicago Cubs’ Pete Crow-Armstrong Shines in Game Against Cardinals

Chicago Cubs center fielder Pete Crow-Armstrong delivered a memorable performance at Busch Stadium on Saturday night, but the same can’t be said for a St. Louis Cardinals fan who got his hands on Crow-Armstrong’s home run ball.

The Cubs led the Cardinals 3-1 in the top of the eighth inning. Crow-Armstrong faced Cardinals pitcher Gordon Graceffo, who served up a fastball. Crow-Armstrong capitalized on this opportunity, hitting his seventh home run of the season into a section popular for its shirtless fans, known as the Tarps Off Crew.

Crow-Armstrong enjoyed the moment as he rounded the bases, while fans responded with a mix of boos and cheers. The fan who caught the home run ball attempted to throw it back onto the field but was unsuccessful, accidentally hitting another fan near the wall.

Crow-Armstrong’s outstanding performance didn’t stop with the home run. He went 4-for-5 at the plate, including a double, marking his first multi-hit game since May 8. His performance contributed significantly to the Cubs’ 6-1 victory over the Cardinals, setting the stage for the series’ final game on Sunday evening.
