Matt McQuillan: A Canadian Golf Pro
Matt McQuillan, a former PGA Tour player, passed away at 45 on August 5, surrounded by family. He was a notable figure in Canadian golf, originating from Kingston, Ontario. His career began with a scholarship to Oklahoma State and continued at the University of Georgia. Turning professional in 2003, McQuillan played 32 PGA Tour events, making the cut in nine.
In 2011, he had a significant moment on the Tour, tying for third with two-time major winner Zach Johnson at the John Deere Classic. His most recent participation in a PGA Tour-sanctioned event was on the PGA Tour Canada circuit in September 2016.
