Brooks Nader is diving into the iconic world of “Baywatch” with enthusiasm, supported by her conservative parents who surprisingly approve of her role. The Sports Illustrated model shared that her family, which previously had restrictions on wearing bikinis, is quite supportive due to the reboot’s preference for the traditional red one-piece swimsuit.
Nader made a striking appearance at the 2026 FOX Upfront event in New York City to promote FOX’s much-anticipated “Baywatch” reboot. She humorously explained why her family approves of her involvement, highlighting that their acceptance stems from her adherence to the family’s clothing rules.
“They’re excited about ‘Baywatch’ because it’s a one-piece swimsuit — we weren’t allowed to wear two-piece bikinis growing up,” Nader shared on FOX’s red carpet. “So they’re like, ‘You’re following the family rules. You’re wearing a one-piece. So, we’re all good.'”
Nader plays the role of Selene, one of the lifeguard captains at Zuma Beach, in FOX’s updated version of the renowned series that was made famous in the 1990s by Pamela Anderson. She dazzled on the red carpet wearing a red minidress with a halter neckline, captivated by the surreal feeling of embodying the iconic red suit.
“I cry every time I put the red suit on, because I’m like, ‘This is my work uniform! What?'” Nader joked, adding that her sisters express jealousy whenever she sports the emblematic attire.
The original “Baywatch” aired from 1989 to 1999, featuring stars like David Hasselhoff, Carmen Electra, and Pamela Anderson. Nader acknowledges the pressure of upholding the show’s legacy, especially Anderson’s role.
“Pamela Anderson was the muse of all muses, and she’s been on my vision board forever. So, we’re going to pay homage to Pam and all the muses of ‘Baywatch’ to the best of our ability. Big shoes to fill. Huge,” Nader explained.
With FOX gearing up to introduce the beloved beach drama to a new generation, the modern reboot features influencers Noah Beck and Livvy Dunne, aiming to broaden its appeal. The announcement has already garnered considerable excitement, as fans eagerly anticipate the updated show with new faces and storylines.
For Nader, the thrill of becoming part of the “Baywatch” legacy is unparalleled, especially when considering the symbolic red swimsuit’s significance. FOX’s “Baywatch” is set to premiere in January 2027.
