Thomas Massie Prepares for 2028 Election After Primary Loss

U.S. Representative Thomas Massie has taken steps toward a political return by filing paperwork for the 2028 election cycle with the Federal Election Commission (FEC). This action follows his recent loss in the House primary.

A week ago, Massie was defeated by Ed Gallrein in the Republican primary for Kentucky’s 4th Congressional District. Massie received 45.1 percent of the votes, while Gallrein secured 54.9 percent. The campaign was challenging, marked by a vocal dispute with President Donald Trump. Trump labeled Massie as the “worst congressman in the Republican Party” last Tuesday.

On Memorial Day, Massie announced his FEC filing in a post on X, shortly after noon Eastern time. In his statement, Massie mentioned, “I filed with FEC for the 2028 House race. This allows me to raise funds to continue my political operations supporting my position as a current officeholder and as a potential candidate for federal office. I haven’t made a final decision about which office to seek, if I run.”

The paperwork filing indicates that Massie is considering his future political possibilities after his widely publicized electoral defeat.

This is a breaking story. More updates will be provided as they become available.
