Gold Trump Statue Unveiled in European Parliament

A gold statue depicting former U.S. President Donald Trump naked and sitting on the shoulders of a smaller man has been unveiled in the European Parliament building in Strasbourg, France. The statue, made of 23-karat gold, was created by Danish artist Jens Galschiot and is titled “The Orange Plague.”

Underneath the 2.5-meter statue, a message states: “I am sitting on the back of a man. He is sinking under my burden. I will do anything to help him. Except stepping down from his back. – The King of Injustice.”

On Galschiot’s website, a quote reads: “Trump represents one of the greatest threats to the rule-based world order, democratic values, and our common effort to solve the climate crisis. We must address this issue and stand together against such destructive influence.”

The statue will remain in the European Parliament building until Thursday before moving to the COP31 UN Climate Conference in Turkey in November. It has previously been displayed at the COP30 UN Climate Summit in Brazil, the Munich Security Conference in Germany, the Rebild Festival, celebrating the 250th Anniversary of the U.S., and the Stand with Greenland Demonstrations, both in Denmark.

Newsweek has reached out to The White House for a comment. This is a developing story, and more information will be provided as it becomes available.
