Despite a third-quarter surge from the Liberty, cutting Indiana’s lead to 66-57, the Fever responded strongly. Mitchell completed a three-point play, and Cunningham hit a three-pointer, extending the lead to 87-67 by the end of the period.
Prior to the game, White addressed criticism over her reaction to DiJonai Carrington’s foul on Cunningham. She emphasized focusing on the game itself, rejecting divisive distractions.
“The hate, the fearmongering, the divisiveness that’s trying to hijack our league will not win,” White stated passionately. “We are united. We are connected. We will not be divided. Every day these women put their effort on the line.”
White’s powerful words highlighted the team’s unity and dedication as she refused further questions.
