The FBI has called on the public to provide any images or videos related to the incident that occurred Saturday, leaving seven others injured, some critically. The restaurant, part of the company’s recent expansion to Idaho, had been operational for just a week.
Authorities are working to notify the families of the victims, delaying the release of their identities. Josh Palmer, Twin Falls spokesperson, detailed that the suspect’s body was discovered near the scene, although it remains unclear if the suspect is one of the reported fatalities.
Twin Falls Police Chief Matthew Hicks announced that the investigation continues, with the shooter’s identity and motive still unknown. Hicks assured the public that the immediate threat had subsided. A further police briefing was scheduled for Sunday afternoon.
Witnesses described the scene as chaotic. Lane Koehn witnessed part of the incident and recounted how a man with a pistol confronted the shooter. Koehn also assisted an In-N-Out employee who had been injured by gunfire until medical help arrived. He described the situation as dire for the injured employee but hoped for her recovery.
Haley Dodaro and her mother, present at the scene, described the fear and chaos as they saw people fleeing the restaurant. An employee actively advised customers to take cover.
Nayeli Rodriguez, who was with her daughters inside the restaurant, recounted how an older man tried to protect them as they evacuated the premises and took refuge in a stranger’s car.
Several injured individuals were transported to St. Luke’s Magic Valley Medical Center. Hospital representatives confirmed working closely with law enforcement to manage the situation effectively.
