Kerri Rawson, daughter of serial killer Dennis Rader, commonly known as the BTK killer, faces a domestic violence injunction. Court documents note her ex-husband, Darian Rawson, claimed she repeatedly warned he and their children were at risk of murder. This was first reported by the New York Post.
After her father’s arrest in 2005, Kerri Rawson became a bestselling author and advocate for crime victims. She wrote about growing up as Dennis Rader’s daughter, one of America’s most infamous serial killers.
A Florida judge approved the injunction after Darian Rawson filed a petition. He cited incidents causing him concern for his safety and their two teenage children’s safety. As a result, Darian Rawson received full custody temporarily, and Kerri Rawson’s contact with the children was limited to electronic communication. She was also barred from approaching their home or school and from contacting their pets.

The petition detailed an event on January 5, 2025, where Kerri allegedly summoned her ex-husband to an Altamonte Springs police station. She reportedly claimed she had psychic abilities and believed their children were in imminent danger. It was alleged she warned police of harm coming to the family, later reporting to 911 that shots were fired and there were multiple active shooters.
Responding officers found the family safe, as per the police report cited by the New York Post. Authorities found Rawson at Orlando International Airport, and she was taken to a hospital where she voluntarily admitted herself. The report mentioned her detention under Florida’s Baker Act, allowing temporary custody for mental health evaluation if needed.

The petition also noted that Kerri Rawson allegedly violated the no-contact order by reaching out to her ex-husband.
Dennis Rader terrorized Wichita, Kansas, from 1974 to 1991 by killing 10 people while maintaining a seemingly ordinary suburban life. The nickname BTK, standing for “bind, torture, kill,” highlighted his method. He pleaded guilty in 2005 and is serving ten consecutive life sentences.

Rawson’s memoir, “A Serial Killer’s Daughter,” was published in 2019. She has appeared in documentaries discussing her father and advocating for crime victims.
A representative for Kerri Rawson did not respond to a request for comment from Fox News Digital.
