Mustafa Ali approached Total Nonstop Action Wrestling’s (TNA) Slammiversary event unaware of who would accept his open challenge for the International Championship. Ali informed his followers via social media that TNA’s director of operations, Daria Rae, would reveal the opponent during the Slammiversary pre-show. Taking initiative, Ali entered the ring before the announcement.
As Rae prepared to announce the opponent to Ali, she was interrupted by Santino Marella, TNA’s director of authority. Both Marella and Rae announced their opponents for Ali, transforming the match from a single bout into a triple-threat competition.
The first challenger, Rich Swann, was disclosed, followed by Uhaa Nation’s debut for TNA. Nation, previously known as Apollo Crews in WWE, held titles such as intercontinental and U.S. champion while in WWE. Nation initiated the match by removing Ali from the ring, shifting his focus to Swann.
Ali faced the dual challenge of countering both competitors’ strength and agility. Support came from Order 4 members Tasha Steelz and Special Agent Zero. They distracted Nation, who aimed to conclude his exchange with Swann. Zero intervened against Nation, giving Ali an opportunity to capitalize in the ring’s one-on-one setup. Ali evaded Swann and executed a backslide pin with a bridge, securing the victory as the referee counted to three, marking a triumphant night for Ali.
This championship marks Ali’s first since joining TNA in 2024. Entering the company, he claimed the X Division Championship and was honored as the X Division Star of the Year during his debut year. Since forming the alliance known as Order 4, Ali has consistently won his matches. He captured the TNA International Championship against Trey Miguel at Rebellion in Cleveland in April and continues to prosper.
