Ohio Police Pursue Suspects in Toledo Festival Shooting

Ohio police are actively searching for a 20-year-old suspect and an additional individual connected to a shooting that occurred at a neighborhood festival in Toledo. The incident took place on Saturday and left 12 individuals injured.

According to the Toledo Police Department, Ka Nye Taylor is wanted on 11 counts of felonious assault related to the shooting at the Old West End Festival. The department released a statement on Wednesday indicating that Taylor was identified through interviews and investigative leads.

Taylor is described as a 5-foot-11 Black man, weighing 130 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. Additionally, investigators have received images of a potential second shooter and are requesting public assistance in identifying this individual.

Rewards are being offered for information leading to the arrests of those involved. Crime Stoppers is offering $10,000, while the U.S. Marshals Service is offering $5,000.

The shooting incident, which wounded 12 people, was reportedly the result of a dispute between two rival groups, according to police. The victims range in age from 14 to 61 years old, with most of them being in their early 20s. Police Lt. Dan Gerken provided this information on Saturday.

Toledo Police Chief Michael Troendle stated on Tuesday that while investigators believe some victims were intentionally targeted, the majority appeared to be innocent bystanders who were caught in the violence.

According to police estimates, three individuals involved in the dispute were among the victims, while the other nine victims were unintended casualties. All victims are expected to recover, and nine have been discharged from the hospital.

Troendle also mentioned that the investigation is ongoing as officials work to fully understand the events that transpired during the shooting on Saturday night.
