Jake Paul’s Boxing Career Faces Uncertainty After Injury

Jake Paul’s recent fight against Anthony Joshua could potentially be his last in the boxing ring. The YouTuber-turned-boxer faced the former heavyweight champion in December and managed to last until the sixth round despite being a significant underdog. Unfortunately, during the match, Paul suffered a broken jaw, posing a serious threat to his future career.

According to Nakisa Bidarian, co-founder of Paul’s Most Valuable Promotions, the current plan is for Paul to return to the ring sometime this year. “He saw his specialists last Wednesday. They gave him a progress report. The plan is for him to be back sparring two months from now,” Bidarian shared with Fox News Digital. “That’s the point to get back into sparring, not training, but sparring. The real test will be how his jaw responds to getting hit again.”

The intention is for Paul to make a return in 2026, although this depends on his recovery. Back in December 2025, Paul spoke during a press conference about the uncertainties surrounding his future in boxing. “Never boxing again is a possibility,” Paul mentioned in an interview with Ariel Helwani. “It depends on how the bone heals. There’s also a missing tooth that might require an implant. We need to assess what’s best for me.”

Despite the setback, Bidarian notes that Paul has no regrets about fighting Joshua. “People ask me if I regret it, but I can’t regret facilitating the match. I didn’t suggest he fight Joshua,” Bidarian said. “Paul doesn’t regret it either. He created a remarkable moment in the sport, testing himself against a dominant heavyweight. He lasted longer than 18 of Joshua’s previous opponents and even landed shots on him.”

Paul holds a record of 12-2, including a notable victory against Mike Tyson in November 2024. Fans can follow Fox News Digital’s sports coverage on X and subscribe to the Fox News Sports Huddle newsletter for updates on Paul’s journey.
