Trump Considers Hunter Biden’s Possible Political Future

During a recent conversation, President Donald Trump humorously entertained the idea of Hunter Biden running for president in 2028. This speculation arose from comments made on social media, fueling debates about Biden’s potential political ambitions. On Thursday, Peter Doocy from Fox News asked Trump about Hunter Biden’s chances in a 2028 Democratic primary. Trump’s response highlighted Hunter Biden’s past challenges, stating, “I would say his past is not the greatest.”

Trump referenced Maine Senate candidate Graham Platner to illustrate his point about scandal-plagued figures succeeding in politics. Platner has faced numerous controversies, including issues related to a deleted Reddit account, a controversial tattoo, drug use, sexting allegations, and reports of inappropriate behavior with ex-girlfriends. Despite these challenges, Platner remains competitive in his bid to unseat incumbent GOP Senator Susan Collins.

Trump also mentioned James Talarico, the Democratic nominee for Senate in Texas, suggesting that if such candidates can perform well, Hunter Biden could potentially succeed as well. Trump commented on Talarico, saying, “If he can do well, maybe Hunter can do well. It’ll be pretty close as far as I’m concerned.”

While attending an event focused on coal energy investments, Trump shared observations about former President Joe Biden’s mental state following the 2024 elections. When asked about Biden’s cognitive condition during a meeting in November 2024, Trump said, “No, not really. I mean, he was the same guy I’ve been watching for a long time.” Trump noted that he observed no significant decline, and remarked on Biden’s performance during debates, suggesting, “I don’t know, something happened to him during the debate. It could have been me.”

In reference to Joe Biden, Trump added that the former president was “never the sharpest guy.”

Representatives for both Trump and Hunter Biden were contacted by Fox News Digital for comments following these exchanges.
