WVU’s Baseball Biomechanics Lab Draws MLB Attention

A state-of-the-art biomechanics laboratory at West Virginia University is gaining attention in the baseball world. MLB’s top players have taken an interest. The lab is primarily operated by university students.

Located in Morgantown, West Virginia, the lab recently hosted Paul Skenes, one of the youngest Cy Young winners in MLB history. Amid the picturesque mountains, he engaged with the research, observing and learning.

Skenes participated in a pitching assessment. He discussed his performance with students in casual attire. He approached the designated marker on the floor where technology captured his every move.

With a focus on accuracy and power, Skenes executed his pitch. The ball covered just over 60 feet, showcasing the speed and precision studied in the lab.
