World Cup Group Matches: U.S., Brazil, Morocco Highlight Action

Group C: Brazil vs. Haiti

The second half of the Brazil-Haiti match has started. Haiti has much to do, holding only 38% possession and with no shots on goal. Brazil, leading comfortably, looks set to secure three points.

Before halftime, Vini Jr. extended Brazil’s lead to 3-0 with a skillful finish. This makes Haiti’s challenge even more daunting. Raphina, however, had to leave the field before halftime with an injury, replaced by Rayan.

Earlier, Brazil capitalized on a Haiti turnover to score its second goal. Cunha and Vini Jr. connected seamlessly, illustrating Brazil’s swift counter-attacking prowess. Despite having multiple scoring opportunities, Haiti’s defense struggled, leading to its current deficit.

Group C: Morocco vs. Scotland

Morocco secured a 1-0 victory over Scotland, opening the scoring within the first minute. Scotland applied pressure but failed to equalize, despite several chances that tested Morocco’s defense.

Achraf Hakimi set a record with his 12th World Cup appearance, highlighting Morocco’s experience. Although Scotland controlled possession after conceding, they couldn’t capitalize, much like in their 1998 World Cup encounter with Morocco.

Group D: USA vs. Australia

In Seattle, the USA clinched a spot in the knockout round with a 2-0 win over Australia. An own goal early on and a header by Alex Freeman set the stage. The USA dominated possession, controlling 62% and completing nearly 450 accurate passes. Despite missing Christian Pulisic, the team maintained solid performance.

The match saw several yellow cards as intensity rose. As the final whistle approached, the USA fended off Australia’s advances, showcasing defensive resilience.
