Wind Gusts Cause Cabana Collapse at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel

A strong wind gust caused a metal cabana frame to fall into a busy pool area at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino on Saturday evening, injuring five people. The incident occurred at the DAER Club, a rooftop entertainment spot at the hotel in Hollywood, Florida.

According to reports, the strong winds hit an outdoor section of the club and led to the partial collapse of the structure. Five individuals were taken to Memorial Regional Hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.

Images and videos shared online showed guests and staff working together to help those trapped under the fallen cabana until first responders reached the site.

The hotel’s pool deck was close to where the cabana frame landed after the winds picked it up. Fox News Digital contacted the hotel for more information.

One bystander, who captured the incident’s aftermath, stated he had been near the location shortly before the collapse happened. He shared that he moved from that spot moments before and was surprised by how closely he avoided the accident.

Previously, Fox News reported another weather-related accident where a New Jersey lifeguard was injured by a flying beach umbrella in windy conditions. This incident happened at Asbury Park’s 3rd Avenue Beach in June 2025, where a woman’s shoulder was pierced by an umbrella stake. She remained conscious and received medical attention at a nearby hospital.

These events highlight the importance of securing outdoor structures during gusty weather to prevent accidents, particularly in open areas like beaches and recreational venues.
