Trump Supports Flávio Bolsonaro’s Entry to the U.S. After Election Loss

On Tuesday, President Trump expressed his approval of former Brazilian presidential candidate Flávio Bolsonaro entering the United States following his defeat in the runoff election to incumbent President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva. Speaking to reporters outside Air Force One at Joint Base Andrews, Trump stated, “I would approve. I think they’re fine people. The election was very strange, and I thought it was terrible. It received bad reviews, and look what happened to their market.”

Trump’s comments came after the contentious election in Brazil, which faced criticism and reportedly affected the country’s market performance.
