Teenagers Injured in South Side Shooting

Two teenage boys sustained injuries from a shooting on the South Side of Chicago. A gunman fired several shots into an apartment near the Auburn Park lagoon, as reported by the Chicago police.

The shooting occurred in the 400 block of West Winneconna Parkway at around 4 p.m. The gunman, whose identity remains unknown, fired from a hallway into the apartment, which was occupied at the time.

An 18-year-old male was critically injured, suffering wounds to his neck, clavicle, and back. He was promptly transported to UChicago Medicine. A 13-year-old boy, hit in both calves, was taken to Comer Children’s Hospital. His condition remains stable and he is reported to be in good condition.

Further details about the incident are yet to be disclosed. Calumet Area detectives are currently conducting their investigation to uncover more information regarding the shooting.
