This milestone showcases the continued influence of the 36-year-old singer-songwriter.
“I Knew It, I Knew You” is featured in the upcoming release of Pixar’s “Toy Story 5,” which will hit theaters on June 19. To celebrate, Swift shared a nostalgic video on Instagram. She wore a cowgirl costume while the new track played in the background. She wrote, “Writing this song felt like a musical departure and coming home at the same time.”
Swift expressed her gratitude to “Toy Story 5” director Andrew Stanton in her post. She also thanked Randy Newman, known for composing music for the “Toy Story” films. She revealed that Jack Antonoff, a longtime collaborator, co-wrote the song with her. She said, “We wrote this with adoration for these characters that shaped our childhoods.”
In another Instagram post, Swift shared her excitement about contributing to the “Toy Story” franchise. She reminisced about her childhood love for the series. She noted, “I dreamed of getting to write for these characters who I’ve adored since I was a child.”
Swift spoke fondly of “Toy Story 5,” stating she fell in love with it after an early screening. She mentioned that inspiration struck immediately after viewing the film, saying, “I wrote the song as soon as I got home.”
