Spencer Pratt Claims to Hold Damning Audio, Feuds with LA Political Leaders

Spencer Pratt, former reality TV star, has intensified his conflict with Los Angeles political figures. After his loss in the city’s mayoral primary, Pratt claimed to possess recordings that could lead to the resignation of either Mayor Karen Bass or City Councilmember Nithya Raman.

In a social media video last Friday, Pratt declared he was no longer bound by campaign restrictions. He threatened to release audio of Bass or Raman involved in actions or statements that would compel them to resign. The specifics of these recordings remain unclear, as Pratt provided no supporting evidence.

“I was saving it for the general election. Go ahead and pick your demon, certify your choice, and then you get to see it,” he stated.

Pratt urged Bass and Raman to consider if their employees might have recorded material that could disgrace them. Newsweek has attempted to contact the offices of Bass and Raman for comments via email during non-business hours.

Escalating Tensions

Pratt, who contested as an independent, surprisingly became a notable figure in the mayoral race. Though he ultimately lost the June 2 primary, with the top two candidates progressing to the general election irrespective of party affiliation.

Bass secured a place in the runoff early, garnering 34.3% of the votes. Initially ambiguous, the second runoff spot later tipped in favor of Raman, who received 29% against Pratt’s 25.5%. Following his defeat, Pratt proclaimed, “I don’t have campaign laws hamstringing me now. It’s war.”

Pratt warned the Democratic candidates about potential legal troubles, suggesting, “Be awake at night, sweating, worried about 5 a.m. when the FBI blazers bust in the door.”

Pratt’s Campaign Strategy

Pratt’s entry transformed the Los Angeles mayoral race into a highly observed spectacle. He stepped into the political arena after losing his home in the 2025 wildfires, portraying himself as an outsider against an ineffectual City Hall establishment.

By leveraging social media and viral content, Pratt attracted national attention and received an endorsement from former President Donald Trump. His campaign centered on pressing issues such as homelessness, crime, public safety, and the city’s recovery post-wildfires. He consistently criticized Bass for her handling of these matters.

Raman, with a progressive stance, challenged Bass’s policies by advocating for housing affordability and enhancing city services. While Pratt failed to advance, both he and Raman engaged with voters’ dissatisfaction with current city leadership.

Pratt’s Political Future

Despite his loss, Pratt remains resolute in his political pursuits. Through a recent video, he announced, “Do you think you can get rid of me that easily?”

Pratt reaffirmed his mission to reveal the city’s political corruption, stating, “You have no idea how bad things are about to get for this city.”

He criticized the city’s leadership, claiming, “This city is a mess, and you’re about to reward the arsonists who torched the place with four more years of destruction.” Despite setbacks, Pratt aims to continue combating what he perceives as corrupt governance.
