Trump’s Executive Order on Federal Employees

The Trump administration has focused on increasing accountability among senior federal bureaucrats. Recently, President Donald Trump issued an executive order aimed at reclassifying certain federal employees.

This new classification will affect around 8,000 senior-level career employees involved in supervisory and policy-making roles. Initially, the administration expected this change to impact approximately 50,000 workers. This reduction represents a more modest approach than previously anticipated.

Office of Personnel Management chief Scott Kupor discussed these changes during The Post’s “Building America” summit held on June 4. The order aims to address the operation and effectiveness of top-level federal employees in their respective positions.
