Shift in Religious Affiliation: Latter-day Saints Decline

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is experiencing a significant decline in retention. A Pew Research analysis indicates a steep drop in members who remain with the church after being raised in it. This percentage has dwindled from 70 percent to 54 percent over the last 20 years.

This trend aligns with changes seen across various faith groups in the U.S. Many individuals are choosing to become religiously unaffiliated.

The Washington D.C. Temple, located in Kensington, Maryland, serves as a notable landmark for the Church. Its presence is significant; however, it reflects broader national shifts in religious identity.
