Seattle Seahawks Celebrate Super Bowl Victory Without MVP Kenneth Walker

The Seattle Seahawks celebrated their Super Bowl win by receiving their championship rings on Thursday night. Absent from the celebration was Kenneth Walker, the Most Valuable Player of the game.

Walker showed exceptional performance in Super Bowl LX, held in Santa Clara, where he completed 27 carries for 135 yards. His contribution made him the standout offensive player for the Seahawks, especially after the team lost Zach Charbonnet to an ACL injury during the NFC Championship game.

Walker was not present for the ring ceremony because he had signed a three-year contract worth $45 million with the Kansas City Chiefs just a month after the Super Bowl. His absence was understandable, given the Chiefs were holding their mandatory minicamp on the same day.

During the Super Bowl, Walker impressively joined the ranks of Timmy Smith and Marcus Allen by delivering multiple runs over 25 yards by the second quarter. Despite not scoring a touchdown, Walker’s ground efforts were crucial in advancing Seattle into scoring situations. A.J. Barner scored the Seahawks’ only offensive touchdown; meanwhile, Jason Myers successfully kicked five field goals, capitalizing on Walker’s groundwork.

With his 135 rushing yards, Walker achieved the eighth-highest yardage in Super Bowl history, marking it as his second-highest performance, including playoff games. Interestingly, betting predictions had estimated his yardage around 70, which he surpassed by halftime.

The Seahawks’ 29-13 triumph over the New England Patriots secured their second Lombardi Trophy. Head coach Mike Macdonald and Walker celebrated with the trophy following the victory.

The championship rings boast 50 white diamonds encrusted around the team’s logo to commemorate their 50th season. They also feature a piece of a game ball and a removable topper designed to serve as a pendant.
