Sean Ono Lennon, son of the late Beatles legend John Lennon, has announced the birth of his first child. At 50 years old, Sean shared on social media that he and his partner, Charlotte Kemp Muhl, are now parents to a son named Aurelius. The name ‘Aurelius’ is Latin for ‘golden.’
Sean has been in a long-term relationship with Charlotte for nearly two decades, and together they perform as the band Ghost of a Saber Tooth Tiger. Sean is the child of John Lennon’s second wife, Yoko Ono. She was present when John was tragically killed in 1980.
John Lennon also had another son, Julian, aged 63, from his first marriage to Cynthia Lennon. In an interview with the Telegraph in 2011, Julian mentioned his reluctance to have children, influenced by his father’s example. He felt his father was too young and unprepared when he became a parent.
The newborn, Aurelius, is the only known grandchild of John Lennon. Sean shared several pictures of the baby on Instagram. Julian also posted images of his new nephew, captioned with heart emojis.
