Riot Fest Adjusts Saturday Schedule Due to Weather Concerns

Riot Fest organizers announced an early end to Saturday’s events due to approaching storms in the Chicago area. At approximately 3:30 p.m., they informed attendees: “In cooperation with the City of Chicago, and prioritizing the safety of our fans, bands, and staff, Riot Fest will conclude early tonight due to inclement weather. For updates and changes, please check Riot Fest socials and riotfest.org. Stay safe and look out for more updates.”

Despite the adjusted schedule, Sunday’s lineup remains unaffected as of now. Many fans on-site experienced delays in receiving this news, as cell service was limited. The revised timetable condensed several performances into 20-minute sets, resulting in the cancellation of Afroman’s much-anticipated appearance. The festival aimed to wrap up around 7 p.m., featuring Tool in the headlining position at 6 p.m.

Sugar’s Bob Mould rounded off his set humorously, commenting, “Who knows who’s up next!” This unexpected change highlighted the challenges of organizing outdoor events influenced by weather conditions.
