Reid Hoffman, the billionaire co-founder of LinkedIn, recently contributed significantly to the House Majority PAC, a major Democratic fundraising organization. This group is currently running ads targeting Republican candidates with themes related to Jeffrey Epstein. The Federal Election Commission revealed these contributions in their latest filings.
As the election approaches, the House Majority PAC has increased spending on ads that accuse Republicans of failing to ensure transparency regarding Epstein’s child sex trafficking activities. Though the filings do not detail which donor funds were allocated to specific ads, Hoffman’s donation coincided with the ramp-up of Epstein-focused advertising.
One ad campaign accused Rep. Nick Begich, R-Alaska, of obstructing the Epstein Files Transparency Act. Despite initially voting against a procedural motion for the bill’s consideration, Begich later supported it, which subsequently passed with nearly unanimous backing.
Billionaire’s Controversial Past
Previously, Hoffman’s connections to Epstein have come under scrutiny. His recent $500,000 contribution to a super PAC supporting Democratic candidate Zach Dembo in Kentucky renewed criticism.
“How did Jeffrey Epstein hide it? He was protected by the elites — elites like Nick Begich. Begich voted against releasing the Epstein Files, trying to hide the truth. Alaskans need someone who cares more about bringing down costs than protecting a rapist,” the ad claims.
The Epstein Files Transparency Act, enacted in November 2025, mandates the release of certain Justice Department records related to Epstein. These records must respect the privacy of his victims.
The House Majority PAC’s latest ad campaign includes a $543,300 spend focusing on these themes. Ads have also targeted battleground states, such as Iowa’s Second Congressional District ($480,000) and several districts in Pennsylvania.
Republican Response
Some Republicans argue that Hoffman’s donation is hypocritical given his history with Epstein. Natalie Baldassarre of the Republican National Committee commented on this apparent contradiction in a statement to Fox News Digital.
“Democrats have no problem with money in politics so long as it benefits their own campaign, even if it comes from certified perverts like Reid Hoffman who maintained a relationship with Epstein after his conviction,” she said.
Hoffman and Epstein’s past interactions included exchanging gifts and raising funds for MIT’s Media Lab. Hoffman has publicly denied any wrongdoing, expressing regret for maintaining a relationship with Epstein post-conviction. He stated in 2019 that he had no further contact with Epstein after 2015.
Despite the controversy surrounding Hoffman’s donation, there is no evidence indicating his involvement in Epstein’s criminal activities. Fox News Digital reached out to both the House Majority PAC and Hoffman’s representatives for comments but did not receive any responses.
