The Philadelphia Eagles will be missing several key players in Sunday’s crucial NFC matchup against the Los Angeles Rams. Six players have been ruled out for Week 4 after they missed Friday’s practice session.
Among those sitting out is DeVonta Smith due to a hamstring injury. This will be the first game Smith has missed since the 2024 season. Despite his inclusion in last week’s injury report for the same issue, Smith managed six receptions on eight targets for 65 yards during Monday night’s game against the Chicago Bears. Smith has taken on a significant role in Philadelphia’s passing game, especially in A.J. Brown’s absence, catching 19 passes for a leading 235 yards this season.
Dallas Goedert will also be absent as he continues to recover from a knee injury. He missed Monday night’s game as well, after leaving the Week 2 victory over the Tennessee Titans early. Goedert ranks third on the team with 81 receiving yards and is the only player to score more than one touchdown this season.
Additionally, Hollywood Brown won’t be able to step up in their absence. The 29-year-old has not recorded a catch for the Eagles this season, despite two handoffs in Week 2. Dontayvion Wicks and first-round pick Malaki Lemon, who has gained 33 yards in his initial three games, may see increased roles.
The Eagles’ defense will be without two critical starters. Zach Baun is sidelined due to a concussion. Following two Pro Bowl seasons, Baun has already secured 25 tackles and leads the team with three passes defended this year. He hasn’t practiced this week as he remains in protocol.
Marcus Epps is also out with a groin injury after playing 61% of the defensive snaps over three starts. The team may rely on Michael Carter II or Kenny Moore II to fill Epps’ safety role.
The Rams will also miss a key player, as Aaron Donald is ruled out with a back injury. The game kicks off at 1 p.m. ET on Sunday.
