Omos entered his match against Rey Mysterio at Triplemania 34 Night 1 with confidence and solid reasoning. Towering nearly two feet above the WWE legend, he was poised for victory, which would secure his return to the AAA roster.
Despite Mysterio’s relentless fight, unloading moves like the 619, West Coast Pop, and a top-rope splash, Omos won. Mysterio seemed close to victory until Omos overwhelmed him with bearhugs, a chokeslam, and the decisive pin.
The drama escalated at the MGM Grand Garden Arena when Omos, not content with just a win, attacked Mysterio post-match. Even after the bell, Omos inflicted more damage. As officials attempted to assist Mysterio onto a stretcher, Omos seized the moment to underline his dominance, slamming the Lucha legend through the announcer table.
Mysterio strapped in and still subjected to Omos’ wrath illustrated a stark reality for the Lucha star.
Both Omos and Dominik Mysterio, who had also been involved in the night’s events, exited to a chorus of boos. This confrontation at Triplemania suggests unsettling times ahead for Rey Mysterio and his ally, El Grande Americano.
The storyline will carry over to Triplemania 34 Night 2, where Dominik Mysterio is set to defend the AAA Mega Championship against El Grande Americano in Mexico City. The event begins at 10 p.m. ET and will be available on YouTube.
