Odell Beckham Jr. is on the verge of a return to the NFL, having not played since the 2024 season. The former All-Pro wide receiver plans to work out with the New York Giants on Monday, shared by Jordan Schultz. Beckham Jr.’s potential comeback could lead to a reunion with the Giants, a surprising turn of events.
The Giants have reached out to Beckham Jr. after losing WR Gunner Olszewski to a torn Achilles injury. Beckham Jr. spent the beginning of his career with the Giants, selected as the No. 12 pick in the 2014 NFL Draft.
His last game in the NFL was on December 8, 2024, while playing for the Miami Dolphins. The Dolphins waived him five days after. If Beckham Jr. re-joins the Giants’ lineup in Week 1, it would mark 644 days since his last NFL appearance.
During his season with the Dolphins, Beckham Jr. caught nine passes for 55 yards in nine games. His career statistics include 575 receptions, 7,987 yards, and 59 touchdowns over a decade-long career. Most of his success was with the Giants, where he recorded 390 receptions, 5,476 yards, and 44 touchdowns in 59 games.
Should the Giants sign Beckham Jr., he would be part of a wide receiver group that features 2026 third-round pick Malachi Fields, 2024 first-round pick Malik Nabers, and free-agent acquisition Darnell Mooney. The Giants ranked 21st in passing yards per game last season at 204.4. Their leading receiver, Wandale Robinson, has since joined the Tennessee Titans through free agency.
