A dramatic incident occurred on a London-bound Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight, capturing the moment a midair brawl erupted between two passengers. The flight, traveling from Sylhet, Bangladesh, to London Heathrow, was disrupted on September 16. Passengers screamed and jumped from their seats as the altercation unfolded.
The fight began as a verbal argument between the two men and quickly escalated into a physical confrontation. During the brawl, one man’s T-shirt was torn, illustrating the intensity of the fight. Fellow travelers, including men and women, sprang from their seats in an attempt to separate the combatants while they exchanged blows in the aisle.
Multiple passengers intervened before the flight crew managed to defuse the situation. The flight included children and elderly travelers. The confrontation was recorded on video and circulated on social media. Biman Bangladesh Airlines confirmed the altercation and issued a statement.
“The flight departed from Sylhet for London this morning,” stated Mohiuddin Ahmed, general manager of the airline’s public relations department. “At some point during the flight, two passengers got into a physical altercation. The cabin crew later intervened and resolved the situation between them.”
Fox News Digital reached out to authorities at Heathrow Airport and Biman Bangladesh Airlines for further information but has not received immediate responses. The police were questioned about potential arrests following the incident.
Sylhet, the departure city, is situated in northeastern Bangladesh, roughly 125 miles from the capital, Dhaka. Flights from Sylhet to London can exceed 11 hours in duration.
This incident underscores a continued pattern of disruptive behavior aboard commercial flights. Earlier in the summer, an easyJet flight from Tenerife to Liverpool had to return to its departure airport following a fight that involved about ten passengers shortly after takeoff. Additionally, in 2024, an unruly passenger on an American Airlines flight was detained after injuring a flight attendant and attempting to open a cabin door. Fellow passengers restrained him using tape.
