Not only is Prince William likely to be livid regarding such commercialization of Althorp in such a tacky tasteless media post, it’ll fuel his disgust so he shall thwart any major re-entry,said Hilary Fordwich, a British royals expert.
According to Richard Fitzwilliams, another royal expert, the Spencer family must have permitted the visit to Althorp, making the post “permissible.” He emphasized the couple’s unusual silence after meeting King Charles and Queen Camilla.
Helena Chard, a British broadcaster, called Meghan’s decision “predictable,” noting it connects them to history while maintaining distance from royal titles. She pointed out a tension between wanting the royal connection and keeping private when it suits them.
During Harry and Meghan’s recent U.K. trip, they reportedly met King Charles and Queen Camilla. Despite King Charles’ apparent wish to retain family ties, experts doubt Harry’s return to a significant royal role, given Prince William’s stance.
