Tatjana Genrich, more than a former Miss Germany, is set to make her professional boxing debut next month. At 33, the model has a history with boxing and is not new to the sport.
Before she was crowned Miss Germany 2022, Genrich’s journey in the boxing ring began. She not only won the ‘Best in Swimsuit’ award but also the ‘Miss Intercontinental Europe’ title at the Miss Intercontinental 2022 pageant. Her roots in boxing trace back to her days as an amateur fighter. According to Bild, Genrich was a state champion in the flyweight division for three consecutive years, from 2007 to 2009.
I became enthusiastic about the sport very early on. I was often bullied at school, and I wanted to fight back somehow. That’s how it all started.
Her modeling commitments didn’t stop her from pursuing a boxing career. Now, Genrich is preparing for her first professional match.
She got back into the ring after sponsoring ring girls for SES Boxing events, who recognized her past achievements. She will be part of the fight card on November 14 at a SES Boxing promotion event.
Under coach Dirk Dzemski, who has previously trained Robert Stieglitz, a former WBO super-middleweight champion, Genrich is training hard. She practices five days a week, focusing on her boxing skills.
I want to be a role model for young women and show them that you can be successful in both your career and sports.
Though she is still preparing for an yet unknown opponent, she enjoys the rigorous training. Bild reports that her ultimate ambition is to become a world champion in boxing.
