Maitland Ward Reflects on Friendship with ‘Boy Meets World’ Co-Stars

Maitland Ward, known for her roles in The Bold and the Beautiful as Jessica Forrester and Boy Meets World as Rachel McGuire, shared insights on her strained relationship with former co-stars during an interview with Fox News Digital. The adult film actress recently talked about her experience on Investigation Discovery’s episode of “Hollywood Demons,” revealing the challenges of child stardom.

Ward stated that there has been no communication with Danielle Fishel, Ryder Strong, and Will Friedle since their conflict over a year ago. “We have not spoken at all,” Ward explained. Despite the silence, she mentioned there was no hostility involved. “There’s been no fighting or anything,” she clarified, expressing sadness about the current disconnect between them.

During a podcast episode of Pod Meets World in February 2025, a tense interaction occurred as Fishel questioned if Ward held resentment towards them. Ward denied these feelings, stating, “I think that you hate me because you wouldn’t speak to me on Girl Meets World.” The conversation highlighted a misunderstanding and past grievances.

Fishel acknowledged the difficulties on the Girl Meets World set, contrasting it with their positive memories from Boy Meets World. “I felt very ostracized,” Fishel admitted. The episode ended with Ward suggesting that the podcast was aiming for higher ratings by rekindling conflict.

Ward felt “bullied” by the intense scenario, surrounded by former friends as tensions resurfaced like an uncomfortable high school reunion. She expressed surprise at the interpretation that she created conflict intentionally. “I was not trying to create conflict,” she said. Ward emphasized her success beyond Boy Meets World, noting it was important to recognize her achievements in other areas.

Despite the fallout, Ward offered support to Fishel during her Dancing with the Stars run. “It really was a genuine moment,” Ward recalled, showing encouragement as Fishel was eliminated. She stressed the importance of backing women who pursue their passions, regardless of past discord.

The unresolved tensions led to a “very strange year,” during which Ward remained open to reconciliation. “I don’t wish her ill or anything,” she shared, emphasizing hope for future connection despite current estrangement.

Ward reaffirmed their lasting bond akin to a family’s, emphasizing unity over disagreements. “No matter what, we are always going to be connected,” she said. This perspective underscores the significant impact their shared history continues to have.
