Maine Office of Sen. Susan Collins Vandalized

Republican Senator Susan Collins stated she will not be intimidated following the vandalism of her office in Biddeford, Maine. This incident coincides with her electoral race against Democratic challenger Troy Jackson. The office was defaced with the words ‘Trump Whore’ sprayed across the entrance, an action confirmed by Senator Collins’ office. Maine state Senator Matt Harrington, the assistant Republican leader, shared images of the vandalism on social media.

Local police are investigating the vandalism. In response, Collins’ Chief of Staff, Katie Brown, emphasized that vandalism is unacceptable and reassured constituents that services will continue undeterred. Collins, seeking reelection for a sixth term in a state leaning Democratic, faces a competitive battle against Jackson, who has not commented on the incident despite requests.

Former Maine state Representative Austin Theriault, currently running for the state House, expressed confidence that Senator Collins would strongly condemn such acts if roles were reversed. He highlighted a potential identity issue within the Maine Democrats due to Jackson’s silence.

Maine GOP Communications Director Kristina Parker condemned the vandalism as an example of extreme behavior from the radical left. She called for swift legal action, insisting that such volatile actions should not be tolerated in the political arena.

The vandalized office is near the site of a recent ICE-related shooting, where protests had previously occurred due to Senator Collins’ support for ICE funding. As a moderate Republican, Collins has often diverged from former President Donald Trump, receiving both praise and criticism throughout her campaign. Recently, she garnered bipartisan attention for casting her 10,000th consecutive Senate vote but faces continued scrutiny for her past vote confirming Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh.
