Libertyville E-Bike Accident Leaves Two Girls Injured

Two 15-year-old girls suffered injuries, one in serious condition, after an e-bike crash involving an SUV on Tuesday night in Libertyville. Paramedics responded to a call at 9:08 p.m. at the intersection of Milwaukee Avenue and Winchester Road following reports of a collision between a vehicle and an e-bike, according to official reports.

The incident involved a Chevrolet Blazer headed north on Milwaukee Avenue, which proceeded through a green light at Winchester Road. The Blazer collided with the e-bike ridden by the two girls as they were crossing Milwaukee Avenue, slightly north of the intersection.

Emergency responders transported both girls initially to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville. One was later moved to Lurie Children’s Hospital in Chicago due to life-threatening injuries. The other girl remained at Condell for injuries that were not life-threatening.

The driver of the Blazer emerged unscathed, as confirmed by the police.

Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
