Justin Rose had a challenging final round at the Tour Championship, but one remarkable swing on the par 3 ninth hole changed everything. At 2-over par and seemingly out of the running in the PGA Tour’s season finale, Rose used a six-iron and executed an impeccable shot.
The par 3 was playing 208 yards and required a lengthy carry over water. Despite these challenges, Rose managed to hit his shot perfectly, amazed to see his ball drop straight into the hole without touching land first.
“While every ace is rare, they don’t get much better than a slam-dunk hole-in-one,” explained an observer.
After this incredible feat, Rose celebrated by raising his arms and mimicking the ball’s trajectory. However, he soon followed with a bogey on the par 4 tenth hole.
Scottie Scheffler, the World No. 1, nearly achieved a similar success moments earlier, with a shot that landed just three inches from the hole on the par 3 second hole. Scheffler has continued to show why he’s the top-ranked golfer.
Earlier this year, Rose added another victory to his impressive career, securing his 13th PGA Tour win at the Farmers Insurance Open with a margin of seven shots.
Looking ahead, the 46-year-old Rose plans to enhance his achievements in the 2027 season and aims for his eighth appearance in the European Ryder Cup team when the event takes place in Ireland.
