Increasing Use of GLP-1 Medications for Weight Loss

The use of medications designed for weight loss is gaining momentum among U.S. adults. A recent Gallup poll highlights this trend. Conducted through a web survey of 5,065 U.S. adults, the poll reveals a significant increase in the use of a new class of weight-loss drugs.

According to the findings, 15 percent of adults in the U.S. have used GLP-1 medications at some point to manage their weight. Currently, 11 percent of respondents report actively taking these drugs. This marks a notable rise from previous years, showcasing the growing reliance on pharmaceutical options for weight management.

GLP-1 medications, available in both injectable and oral forms, are becoming increasingly popular. This shift indicates a broader acceptance and pursuit of medical interventions in the ongoing battle against obesity.
