The 78th Primetime Emmy Awards took place in Los Angeles on Monday, attracting a wide array of stars to the red carpet. The ceremony, hosted by Mariska Hargitay of Law & Order: SVU, was broadcast on NBC and Peacock, beginning at 8 p.m. ET, 5 p.m. PT.
Eligibility for awards this year included shows that aired between June 2025 and May 2026. On the drama side, contenders included The Pitt, Pluribus, The Diplomat, and The Gilded Age. Comedies such as The Bear, Margo’s Got Money Troubles, Shrinking, and Widow’s Bay were also in the running.
Some notable appearances include Zendaya, who arrived with grace, and Mariska Hargitay, accompanied by her husband Peter Hermann. Other stars like Steve Carell and Noah Wyle, Lukita Maxwell and Lisa Ann Walter, and Megan Stalter with Paul W. Downs also graced the event. Hosts Alan Cumming and RuPaul Charles were seen along with actor Denée Benton and Top Chef host Kristen Kish.
