During the annual Made by Google event on August 12, Google unveiled several products and features. The main focus was on the new Pixel 11 series, which includes four phones, a new Pixel Watch, and Pixel Buds with enhanced features. The overarching theme was to create devices that anticipate user needs.
Google’s Pixel 11 Lineup: Key Upgrades
The Pixel 11 series includes the Pixel 11, Pixel 11 Pro, Pixel 11 Pro XL, and Pixel 11 Pro Fold. All models feature the new Tensor G6 processor with Gemini Intelligence capabilities.
The Pixel 11 has a camera bar 40% thinner than previous models and a 48-megapixel main camera with significant light sensitivity improvements. The telephoto camera supports up to 30x Super Zoom. The Pixel 11 Pro and Pro XL boast displays with up to 3,600 nits brightness and improved scratch resistance.
Google enhanced the charging experience with Pixelsnap magnetic wireless charging and adopted Qi2 support for faster wireless charging up to 25W.
The Pixel 11 Pro Fold is lighter and thinner, with a more durable design than its predecessor.
Enhanced Gemini Features on Pixel 11
Gemini has been upgraded to assist with multistep tasks across over 40 apps. For instance, when a message about a trip is received, it can display booking details and flight status. It also suggests options based on conversations, such as making reservations or adding events to the calendar.
Google introduced Rambler, a voice input feature that transcribes speech without including filler words.
Additionally, Sign To Text allows users to communicate via American Sign Language, recognizing different signing methods and facial expressions.
Acknowledging Users’ Privacy and Security
Google emphasized the visibility and control over AI functions in Pixel 11, allowing features to be toggled on or off. Security measures include blocking spam texts and calls, with a promise of seven years of security updates.

Pixel Watch 5’s Advancements in Health Monitoring
Pixel Watch 5 introduces improved GPS features, more RAM, and a faster processor. Health Guardian tracks wellness changes, including blood pressure trends. However, features like Breathing Emergency Detection are not yet available in the US.
Introducing the Pixel Tag Finder
Google launched the Pixel Tag, a finder for locating items using the Find Hub network. It provides distance and directional guidance through compatible devices, with a replaceable battery lasting over a year.
Upgraded Pixel Buds Pro 2 Features
New software features for Pixel Buds Pro 2 include improved Active Noise Cancellation and a connection with Pixel Watch for audio control. A new Olive color option is available.
Kurt ‘CyberGuy’ Knutsson highlighted that the true innovation lies in reducing user attention demand on devices. Features like Magic Capture and HiLight emphasize efficiency and practicality in user interactions.
