Declan Walsh, the chief Africa correspondent, is currently in the Congo, gaining firsthand insights into the situation. He observed health workers in an Ebola ward dealing with the crisis, despite limited equipment and external support.

A Critical Situation in Congo

The route to Mongbwalu is marked by soldiers and checkpoints, a reflection of the persistent ethnic conflicts in the region. With its gold-mining activities, the area draws thousands of migrant workers. This constant movement provides a fertile ground for the virus.
