Dolly Parton’s Walk of Fame Star Vandalized and Remembered

The Hollywood Walk of Fame star dedicated to Dolly Parton was recently damaged with scratches, days after her passing. A fan visiting the site noticed the vandalism and reported it on social media. Ana Martinez, producer for the Hollywood Walk of Fame, confirmed the vandalism, noting the presence of scratches in a shared photo.

Flowers placed at Parton’s star were removed before the incident, as repairs had been scheduled the previous week. Martinez stated, “The crew just completed the first part of making said repairs.” These repairs, conducted by the Hollywood Historic Trust, are ongoing. The star is expected to be fully repaired and polished by Friday.

Parton, the iconic country music singer, passed away at the age of 80 on August 25, after a brief battle with cancer. She died peacefully in Nashville, Tennessee, surrounded by family at Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center, as confirmed in a statement from her team. Her niece, Lainey Mae Parton, shared a heartfelt tribute on Instagram, expressing love and gratitude for the cherished entertainer.

Lainey Mae reminisced about her grandmother’s encouragement and support, saying, “From the time I was little, my granny always had a way of making me feel like I was enough.” She recounted Parton’s assistance when choosing beauty school over college, noting, “She financially supported me through school and helped me get my career started.”

The niece shared the profound impact Parton had on her life and highlighted how much she would miss the singer’s presence, laughter, and calls, which often came as early as 4 AM.

Parton is remembered not only for her musical legacy, which includes hits like “Jolene” and “I Will Always Love You,” but also for her roles in films like “9 to 5” and “Steel Magnolias.” Additionally, her philanthropic efforts through the Imagination Library have made a lasting impact by distributing millions of books to children globally.

Lainey Mae concluded her tribute with, “I feel incredibly lucky that I got to call her my granny. Thank you for always believing in me, loving me, and making me feel like I could do anything. I love you, Granny. Always.”
