Movies: TCM’s New Friday Feature
Turner Classic Movies (TCM) is transforming your Fridays with their new series, Films on Film. This series focuses on the art, history, and preservation of filmmaking. Guided by longtime host Ben Mankiewicz, the program pairs documentaries with classic films, exploring topics like Charles Grodin’s career, Latino representation in Hollywood, and Charlie Chaplin’s satirical take on fascism in The Great Dictator.
According to Charlie Tabesh, Senior Vice President of Programming at TCM, these documentaries offer new insights into film history. By combining them with classic features, viewers get a more meaningful understanding of these stories. Movies serve as both a cultural reflection and a guide for societal growth. By reminding us of this weekly, TCM provides a valuable service.
