“This year was different,” Tes shared, acknowledging the unique difficulties faced by many small businesses. After the pressures of preparing for summer post-spring training, he encountered a severe financial slump, leaving him unable to meet payroll.
With the business on the brink, Tes reached out to the community and sought divine assistance. His heartfelt appeal on social media prompted a significant response.
The following day, The Local Donut was bustling with activity as customers flocked to support the shop. In addition, other local businesses prepaid for customers in a show of unity.
Tes noted, “There’s a lot of selfless people out there, a lot of generous people.” Regular patrons expressed relief that the shop survived, highlighting its friendly atmosphere and delicious offerings.
Harris Dozier, a loyal customer, remarked, “They’ve got a lot of great options as well as super friendly people, so it’s a great time to come in here real quick for a doughnut.”
Thanks to the community’s generosity, The Local Donut remains operational. Tes is determined to continue serving the community, and he expressed a desire to pay the goodwill forward.
