CDC Halts and Revisits Covid Vaccine Study, Results Published in JAMA Network Open

Research has revealed significant benefits of the Covid-19 vaccine for healthy adults. Conducted last winter, the study indicated a reduction in emergency department visits and hospitalizations by approximately 50% among this population.

Previously, the CDC’s interim director had stopped this research due to questions about its methodology. However, the study has now been published in JAMA Network Open, a well-regarded peer-reviewed medical journal. Despite previous criticisms, the analysis relied on the same methodology initially flagged by the CDC when it faced publication hurdles in the organization’s weekly scientific report.
