Cameron Brink Faces Another Injury Setback

The Los Angeles Sparks selected Cameron Brink as the No. 2 overall pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft. Since then, the 24-year-old star has struggled with persistent injuries.

Brink’s rookie year was abruptly ended after 14 games due to an ACL tear on June 18, 2024. This injury led to a shortened 2025 season. She managed to return to the court on July 29, 2025, playing in only 19 games.

Fans hoped Brink would excel in her third WNBA season, now fully healthy. However, Brink encountered another setback during the Sparks’ 78-58 loss to the Golden State Valkyries in the WNBA Commissioner’s Cup.

Cameron Brink began limping towards the bench and eventually sat on the floor instead of reaching her seat, reported ESPN’s Kendra Andrews. Teammates assisted her to a seat. Brink tried to walk off the court on her own afterwards, leaving the game’s outcome uncertain.

After the game, Sparks head coach Lynne Roberts commented that Brink was undergoing evaluation. Later, Sparks beat reporter John W. Davis confirmed Brink’s absence due to a left ankle injury for the upcoming match against the Minnesota Lynx on Wednesday.

Brink’s recovery is crucial for the Sparks. Currently, she averages 9.2 points, 4.4 rebounds, 1.5 blocks, and 1.1 assists over 14 games for the 7-7 Sparks.
