Atlanta Dream Fans Support Team to Force Game 7 in WNBA Finals

The Atlanta Dream fans filled State Farm Arena on Thursday, showing strong support during the WNBA Finals Game 6 held at 12:30 p.m. ET. This backing propelled the Dream to an 80-69 victory over the Golden State Valkyries, bringing the series to an even 3-3. The decisive Game 7 is scheduled for Saturday, October 31, marking the first time the WNBA Finals has reached a seventh game.

Angel Reese set a new record by securing the most rebounds, 78, in a WNBA Finals series. She also achieved four double-doubles throughout the Finals, the second-highest in league history. On Thursday, Reese scored 15 points, grabbed 14 rebounds, and provided six assists.

After the game, Reese expressed gratitude toward the 17,000-plus fans who attended, attributing their presence as a key factor in the Dream’s Game 6 success. “Every time we’ve thrown the first punch, we’ve won the game,” Reese commented. “We appreciate the fans’ support on a weekday. They supported us every single day, every single game. We wanted to make sure we ended this right here.”

Thursday’s game marked the last home game in Atlanta this season, with the Finals moving to the Chase Center in San Francisco, California, for the upcoming Game 7. The sold-out crowd was part of a season-long trend, with Atlanta fans consistently supporting the Dream. This strong attendance helped the team secure a multi-year agreement to play all regular season games at State Farm Arena, replacing the smaller Gateway Center Arena which holds about 3,500 fans.
