Arrest Warrant Issued for Former Green Party Presidential Candidate Jill Stein

An arrest warrant has been issued for Dr. Jill Stein, former presidential candidate for the Green Party, due to a missed court appearance related to an assault charge in 2024.

The hearing was scheduled for Monday at 9 a.m. in St. Louis. Neither Dr. Stein nor her legal representative attended, although prosecutors were present. Judge Karma Johnson of St. Louis announced, “There will be a failure to appear warrant for Ms. Stein,” as reported by St. Louis Magazine.

The charges against Dr. Stein arose from a protest held at Washington University in April 2024 regarding the conflict in Gaza. During the protest, which led to over 100 arrests, only Dr. Stein and one other person were formally charged. Dr. Stein faces misdemeanor charges of assault and trespass from that event, issued in March 2025.

Newsweek has reached out to Dr. Stein for comment, attempting contact via email beyond regular business hours.

This situation is still unfolding. Further updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
