Apple’s Foldable iPhone Duo and Other 2026 Innovations

Apple has introduced its foldable iPhone Duo, starting at $1,999. The device offers dual-screen capability and an ultra-thin design. Users can opt for storage configurations up to 2TB, reaching $3,000. The iPhone Duo opens to a 7.6-inch Super Retina XDR display and features a 5.4-inch outer screen. Apple’s innovations address the common complaint about foldables’ creases, using a custom nano-texture finish to reduce visibility.

Instead of Face ID, this model uses Touch ID integrated into the side button. The iPhone Duo supports Apple Pencil with USB-C and features Grade 5 titanium. It is dust and water-resistant with an IP68 rating. The dual-camera setup expands features like Dual Capture for simultaneous front and rear feeds during FaceTime, and Duo FaceTime allows another person to join using the outer display.

Apple has made software updates to iOS 27 to enhance user experience with the Duo. It enables seamless transitions between displays, side-by-side app viewing, and two-page displays on the Home Screen. Developers receive tools to optimize apps for the foldable format. The camera features, such as Duo Preview and Smart Take, aim to uphold unique capabilities even as the novelty of foldables wanes.

Apple Watch Updates

Apple Watch Series 12 and Ultra 4 focus on user health metrics. They feature enhanced heart rate sensing, providing data to develop Readiness scores for user activity levels. The Ultra 4 extends its battery life and supports detailed movement evaluations through vision-based AI.
